Kitty Macarons

Kitty Macarons

As most of you know, I have a cat and, over the years, I've essentially became a crazy cat lady. Although I still don't have all cat everything...yet, my eyes caught this recipe and I became obsessed. I had to make it. I've read the recipe like 10 times. (BTW, if you're making a new recipe, it is recommended to read the entire recipe first before making it).

Now, here's the thing about macarons, they're kinda tricky to make. There is a whole science behind it and what not. So my biggest mistake was using almond meal instead of almond flour. I had no clue that those two were different things. Next time I'll try to either find the actual extra fine almond flour or grind it myself. Also, the edges that you get on the macarons is actually an indication of a good macaron. As evidenced in my photos, mine were just ... ok. Lastly, buttercream icing is no-no for me.

I gotta say though, regardless of the fact that they came out a bit wonky, they still tasted pretty damn good. And they just look so cute! MEOW!
