Punny Coasters

Punny Coasters

I am a big fan of puns. I like them in any form and I believe it's a fair way to gauge person's intelligence - that is whether or not they understand the pun. My Halloween costume last year was (sort of) punny - I was trying to be a literal version of a Gladiator in a Suit.  Only Scandal fans got it :-(

So, in spirit of punning, I made this coasters playing on all the different ways people say drunk. I came up with "Plastered", "Tanked", "Buzzed" and "Hammered." All you need for this project is:

  1. Craft wood
  2. Sharpies
  3. Pencil
  4. Sanding paper in 100C and 220A
  5. Acrylic Paint
  6. Mod Podge

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Sand your blocks. First with rougher paper, then with the finer

Step 2: Paint it your desired color. I, obviously chose gold. Why? I just had it around.

Step 3: Wait for the paint to dry, then sketch your desired design with a pencil.

Step 4: Outline and/or fill it in it with a Sharpie.

Step 5: Seal it with Mod Podge, wait for it to dry and lightly sand it with the fine sandpaper.

Step 6: Sip, drink and impress your guests :-)
